A Buddhist rock crystal reliquary containing carnelian agate beads, the hinged mounts in gilt copper with a hanging loop, the metal chased with a design of lotus heads and foliage on a stippled ground.
N.B:Buddhist reliquary in the shape of a wish-granting jewel possibly used as offering placed inside a Buddhist statue or within a memorial stone. The carnelian beads placed inside quite likely represent prayer beads (Juzu) which provide protection and are used for invocation.
