An extremely unusual short, Tibetan Lamaist Priest’s jacket, the body made up of a blue ground chrysanthemum brocade, the bottom of which showing an imperial Chinese factory name. The extended arms made up from various 18th / 19th century Buddhist brocades. Lined in a yellow cotton.
The composite nature of this garment, is typical of the many Tibetan costumes fabricated from a variety of tribute silks donated to Buddhist monasteries from China.
