A rare Canton gilt bronze mirror. The ovoid plaque finely cast, portraying an elegant Western lady, her hair delicately incised with curls adorned with a beaded floral headdress. Surrounded by a band of shinny white and blue paste-set inlays. The finial, cast with scrolling acanthus leaves. This rare piece is an unusual example of cross Chinese-European cultural interaction and is similar to objects made in Canton.
