An unusual large carved panel depicting a view of Hong Kong island from Kowloon. The panel depicts HMS Britannia at her moorings surrounded by Sampans and junks before the waterfront’s Star ferry, colonial buildings, and the Victorian peak tram. Provenance by repute one of two made in 1953 to be presented to HRH The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on their first trip to Hong Kong. This, the second bought by a British family living in Hong Kong at the time.
