An unusual embroidery on a silk ground mounted as a scroll, depicting a steep river valley finely embroidered with a fast flowing river. The rocky banks subtly embroidered in hues of green and brown foliage below two tall gnarly pine trees leaning across towards a fisherman’s lodgings.
Japan, Meiji period.
