An unusually large pewter tea jar and cylindrical cover with inset lid, the ovoid body rising from a flat base to a cylindrical neck. Impressed mark Yazaemon, Pewter shop Suzuya in Kyoto. NB: The family business was established in 1887 as a pewter retail.
